Horrible! SokYaa Pull and Drag OG Hardly Because Scorpion Arrive Soon
The jungle was alive with sounds—the chirps of distant birds, the rustling of leaves in the breeze, and the occasional thrum of a hidden animal’s heartbeat. SokYaa, a seasoned adventurer, was crouched low in the underbrush, her sharp eyes scanning the path ahead. She had been tracking her target for hours now, the heat of the midday sun making the air shimmer like a mirage. But today wasn’t just any ordinary mission. Today, something dark and dangerous was lurking.
Her partner, OG, was not far behind, carrying their heavy gear and dragging an old, rusted cart that had seen better days. They had been on the trail of a rare and deadly creature—a giant scorpion that had been terrorizing a local village. The villagers had sent for help, and SokYaa, known for her skills in tracking and survival, had answered the call. But this mission was about to take a turn for the worse.
“Are you sure we’re on the right track?” OG asked, his voice hoarse from the heat and strain of their journey. His large frame was hunched, the weight of the cart making every step a battle. His usually confident swagger was missing.
SokYaa glanced back at him, her expression grim. “I’m sure. We’re close, OG. The trail’s fresh. But we need to hurry.”
Ahead, the trees began to clear, revealing a large rocky outcrop, the perfect spot for the scorpion to hide. SokYaa gestured to OG, signaling for him to be quiet. They both crouched low, blending into the shadows of the dense undergrowth.
That’s when it happened. A low, menacing hiss filled the air. The sound sent a chill down SokYaa’s spine. She quickly signaled to OG to stay silent. The ground seemed to tremble slightly, a rhythmic thumping that was too deliberate to be from anything other than a giant creature.
With a sharp breath, SokYaa pulled herself up and slowly inched forward, her boots barely making a sound. There, on the rocky outcrop, the enormous creature appeared. It was the scorpion—its body glistening with a venomous sheen, its tail arched high, ready to strike. The creature was much larger than SokYaa had expected—its pincers clacked together, making an awful, grinding noise as it eyed the pair with calculated menace.
“Ready yourself,” SokYaa whispered to OG. But before he could respond, a loud crack echoed through the air. The scorpion had heard them.
SokYaa’s heart pounded in her chest as she grabbed her bow, nocking an arrow in one swift motion. She let the arrow fly, but the scorpion was too quick, its massive tail whipping around to deflect the shot.
“Move! Move!” SokYaa shouted, realizing that their only hope was to get the creature’s attention away from them, long enough to outsmart it. She reached into her satchel and pulled out a small smoke grenade, tossing it onto the ground with a loud bang. Thick, black smoke swirled around them, creating a dense cloud that momentarily blocked the scorpion’s vision.
“OG, pull the cart! Drag it to the edge of the cliff, now!” SokYaa commanded, grabbing her partner’s arm and urging him forward. OG, clearly overwhelmed, nodded and started to push the cart in the direction she indicated, despite his weariness. The cart’s wheels screeched and rattled, but the noise wasn’t enough to draw the creature’s focus. The scorpion was still searching the smoke for them, its pincers snapping in frustration.
“Almost there,” SokYaa muttered, sweat dripping down her brow. They were nearly at the edge of the rocky outcrop, where a steep drop awaited.
With one last, desperate heave, SokYaa and OG managed to get the cart close enough to the cliff’s edge. Without hesitation, SokYaa grabbed a large rope from the cart and tied it to a nearby tree, securing it tightly. She then looped it around her waist, pulling OG alongside her.
The scorpion’s hissing grew louder as it neared the edge of the outcrop, sensing the pair’s retreat. But just as it lunged forward, the ground beneath it gave way—the heavy cart had created a small tremor, loosening the rocks. With a final screech, the giant scorpion plunged off the cliff, disappearing into the ravine below.
SokYaa exhaled in relief, her heart still racing. “That was too close,” she said, wiping the sweat from her forehead. OG, gasping for air, gave a shaky laugh.
“Yeah, but at least we pulled it off,” he said. “I never thought I’d see the day we’d defeat a scorpion this big.”
SokYaa nodded, her face stern. “Remember, OG, the real danger isn’t always what we can see. It’s the things lurking out of sight that are the hardest to fight.”
As they watched the area settle, they knew their mission was over—but the lesson of survival in the wild had just begun.
